Pete Freitag, President and Owner of Foundeo, Inc., has been a web developer specializing in ColdFusion since the mid '90s. Prior to starting his own company, Pete co-authored The ColdFusion MX Developer's Cookbook in 2003 and worked as CTO at ActivSoftware. ColdFusion 8 brings several handy enhancements but no feature has been more anticipated than the ability to resize images with ColdFusion. Not only did Adobe give us quality image resizing capabilities, they also provided over 50 additional image manipulation features. Learn how to unleash the powerful new image manipulation capabilities in ColdFusion 8.
We will start with the CFIMAGE tag and show you how to resize images, get image dimensions, and create captcha's. Moving on we will take a look at the many image manipulation functions that ColdFusion 8 provides covering more advanced topics such as: drawing on existing images, creating images from scratch, and more.
While image manipulation can be fun, it does have practical business applications as well, we will take a look at how your organization might start to leverage this functionality.
Finally we will conclude with the world premiere of 3 new image effects to be included in Foundeo's Image Effects Component for ColdFusion and a chance to win a copy.
